Udapa and Paturpat donate more than 55,000kg of potatoes to various solidarity associations

Throughout this health crisis, Udapa and its associated cooperative Paturpat have donated more than 55,000kg of 5th range potatoes to different organisations and charitable causes to help improve the situation of the most vulnerable people as much as possible. The product is being very well received by those in charge of the associations because potato is a basic food in our diet and as it is steamed it reduces the work and time involved in its preparation.

The main associations with which we have collaborated are the various Food Banks, Cruz Roja and Remar, but perhaps one of the most important donations has been the 5 tonnes destined for the Messengers of Peace Association so that they can feed the people who have been admitted to the IFEMA field hospital in Madrid.

It is also worth noting the enormous solidarity shown by several transport companies, such as Transportes Irazabal or the Udapa transporters, who of their own free will have decided to contribute to the cause by transporting the product from the Paturpat plant to the headquarters of the associations free of charge.

Although it seems that the worst of the pandemic has passed, the cooperatives will continue to contact different entities to help in any way possible by delivering the processed product.
